Useful Tips when Replacing your Stove Glass / Heat Resistant Glass

Please take the following into consideration when replacing your stove glass / heat resistant glass.

After removing your damaged stove glass / heat resistant glass use a damp cloth to clean the area where the new glass will go. You may also run your finger over the surfaces where the new stove glass will contact, making sure the area is free from any rough surfaces or sharp particles. If your stove glass fits into a U-shaped channel, then vacuum these out. The reason for this is that if the glass is tightened against any particles or rough surfaces they will act as pressure points along which the glass will crack.

Inspect the thermal rope or thermal tape and replace if damaged or worn. Install the new stove glass / heat resistant glass and tighten the brackets only FRICTION TIGHT so to allow for expansion when the glass heats up.

If you have trouble in undoing any screws, try heating them up with a blow torch, this often helps to move stubborn screws.
